From Eriskay To Donegal
The third album from Eriskay Lilt also marks a landmark for the dynamic husband & wife duo: this is the first CD that they have released under their own independent record label, Eriskay Lilt Records. This has given Don & Kathleen MacDonald complete control over all aspects of the production, enabling them to release their finest album yet.

As is usual for the duo, they have capitalised on their best asset - their versatililty - with a lovely mixture of Scottish, Irish and Country & Western songs interspersed with lively ceilidh numbers and a haunting bagpipe rendition of Phil Cunningham’s slow air, “The Ruby”. Fans of Eriskay Lilt will not be disappointed! For those unfamiliar with Eriskay Lilt’s unique style, this CD is the perfect introduction to the duo’s talents.

To record this album, Eriskay Lilt returned to Nutshell Music, a small 24-track digital recording studio based in Oban, Argyll. The friendly, relaxed and, above all, professional approach of studio owner & engineer Finlay Wells meant that there was simply no question of recording anywhere else! Finlay has once again achieved an excellent result, managing to ably capture the lively sound of Eriskay Lilt. Finlay’s multiple talents are in evidence too - listen carefully to the CD and you can hear some wonderful guitar accompaniment from him!

Don & Kathleen have also remained faithful to backing musicians Colin Garvin (keyboards & second accordion) and Fraser MacInnes (drums) and their exceptional talents are once again put to good use on this album. Their contribution has undoubtedly added to the already abundant lift, swing and energy of Eriskay Lilt, with a style which is guaranteed to have every ceilidh enthusiast itching to get on the dance floor!

Eriskay Lilt have done it again. Another superb collection of their favourite music which is sure to please listeners “From Eriskay to Donegal” and further afield!

Nutshell Music, Oban
Eriskay Lilt have established an excellent working relationship with Nutshell Music, having recorded and mixed all but two of their CDs there. The studio is owned and run by Finlay Wells and his wife Helen. Sound engineer Finlay, a graduate of the “Recording Workshop”, Ohio, USA is no stranger to the other side of the microphone! His guitar-toting skills have been heard on  several recordings as well as at live venues throughout Scotland. What little spare time he has left is devoted to teaching guitar.
