Dreaming In The West
Following on from the success of their debut album “Just A Little Bit”, Eriskay Lilt present their second offering entitled “Dreaming In The West.” As before, they have chosen a wide selection of material catering for all tastes - a formula which has proved most successful for them over the years at their live performances. From traditional Scottish ceilidh dance music and sympathetic slow airs, to upbeat pop numbers plus Scottish and Irish songs the duo’s all-round ability is once again displayed.

On many of the tracks, Don & Kathleen MacDonald are joined by their west coast band comprising Colin Garvin (keyboards & second accordion), Fraser MacInnes (drums), Finlay Wells (guitar, percussion & harmonica) and Chas MacKenzie (guitar). For the traditional Scottish tracks, the sound produced by Don and the band is second to none with outstanding playing and plenty of swing. The talents of guitarists Finlay and Chas are also put to good use throughout the album, complementing Kathleen’s vocal numbers wonderfully. With such high musicianship in abundance, the listener is never left disappointed.

It is always a difficult task to repeat the success of a debut recording, but by once again balancing a varied mixture of music with fantastic playing, there is no doubt that Eriskay Lilt have created another hit album. The aforementioned Finlay Wells has been busy on this album - in addition to his playing role, he’s also engineered the recording and mixing of this CD. A special mention must go to him therefore, for ably capturing the energy, vitality and lift that epitomises Eriskay Lilt.

Eriskay Lilt Records
Eriskay Lilt Records was established by Don & Kathleen MacDonald in 2002 as an independent label  to promote the music of Eriskay Lilt. To date, the label has released four CDs and acquired the rights to two other recordings.

Nutshell Music, Oban
Eriskay Lilt have established an excellent working relationship with Nutshell Music, having recorded and mixed all but two of their CDs there. The studio is owned and run by Finlay Wells and his wife Helen. Sound engineer Finlay, a graduate of the “Recording Workshop”, Ohio, USA is no stranger to the other side of the microphone! His guitar-toting skills have been heard on  several recordings as well as at live venues throughout Scotland. What little spare time he has left is devoted to teaching guitar.
